As long-term residents of Center Boulevard (in Hunters Point, Long Island City), Sweetleaf LIC is our go to for delicious coffee pre-7pm and craft cocktails post-7pm.
During the day, the venue offers delicious coffee drinks, breads and pastries, comfy couches, chill music: all in all, a great place to bring your laptop and work. If you’re needing a wake-up call, I recommend stopping by for an iced Rocket Fuel with oat milk. The waterfront is only a 3 minute walk, and offers spectacular views of the New York City skyline. (Note the NYC ferry stops here as well, and is closer to Sweetleaf than the 7 train.)
I also hear excellent reviews of their weekend brunch.
Around 5pm, the vibe changes to that of a chill, neighborhood cocktail bar. Get here early and take advantage of one of LIC’s best happy hours. The “no laptop” policy goes into effect, and the setting becomes a great pre-dinner go-to (or, if you’re looking for light fare, you can get more than enough to eat).
