1. Fifth Hammer Brewing
Fifth Hammer Brewing has been a staple of Long Island City since 2015. The brewery’s name is inspired by the five-story steam hammer that used to be on the premises, which was built in 1889 and used until 1953.
The brewery is located at 30-17 36th Street, where it occupies the first floor of a building that was once home to a foundry and machine shop. The building itself has been around since 1868.
Fifth Hammer Brewing’s tasting room offers a wide variety of beers—ranging from IPAs to stouts and everything in between—and some brand new creations are even available for purchase by the bottle or can. The brewery also offers food from neighboring restaurants, who deliver directly to Fifth Hammer’s facility.
2. Iconyc
Iconyc Brewing is a microbrewery and taproom located in Long Island City, New York. Iconyc Brewing was founded in 2015 by two friends who were looking to create a space that was welcoming and comfortable, with an emphasis on creating great beer. The owners of Iconyc Brewing wanted to create a place where people could come together over a shared love of good beer and socialize with friends and family.
The brewery has a large taproom with an outdoor patio area, which makes it easy for customers to sit down and enjoy their beer while watching the world go by.
3. Big aLICe
Big aLICe brewery is a Long Island City-based brewery that’s making waves in the beer world. They’ve been around since 2013, when they opened their doors to the public, and they’re still going strong today. They are best known for their IPA, which has been described as “the most refreshing beer on the planet.” If you haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet, we highly recommend it.
The brewery is located at 41-30 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City, New York. It’s just across from the Jackson Avenue train station in Queens and open from noon until 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday; and closed on Tuesday. 4. Rockaway Brewing
Located in Long Island City, Rockaway Brewing is a brewery and taproom that offers a variety of beers to enjoy. The brewery is named after the Rockaways, an area of New York City that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy but has since recovered.
Rockaway Brewing offers a wide range of craft beers, including their flagship brews: the Beach Blonde Ale and the Beach IPA. They also have seasonal beers such as their Pumpkin Pie Porter and their Coffee Stout.
The brewery only serves beer in their taproom. There are no food options available at this time, but you can bring your own food with you or order delivery from nearby restaurants if you prefer not to eat at the brewery itself.
