An absolute gem of LIC! The Beast Next Door is an adorable, rustic cocktail and wine bar that offers small plates and great vibes. Located in the ever-growing Court Square neighborhood, it’s a great, romantic spot to enjoy cocktails and delicious appetizers.
While you can drop by the Beast Next Door for happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-7pm for dollar oysters and discounted cocktails, I love going there on Saturday nights before karaoke picks up at the nearby local favorite The Huntress.

And don’t forget to complement your cocktail order with small plates. All of the appetizers are good (I’m of course always up for a shrimp cocktail), but to give your taste buds an extremely original and out of this world experience, I recommend trying the deviled eggs. They’re cured with red wine and beet juice and topped with creme fraiche. Positively mouthwatering.
